The Awards Ceremony took place May 1st at THE TRIBUTE, and was a huge success. We want to thank again everyone of you either for participating with your talent, or for supporting our festival by assisting at our daily screenings.

Several filmmakers are -or have now become- members of the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences (Oscars). In addition several Tribeca Underground filmmakers are short listed for this year's Berlin and Cannes Film Festivals among others. We wish them good luck and will keep you informed about all the exciting developments on the horizon for the 2006 festival.

The Jury
Lauren Britt-Elmore has extensive professional experience in all aspects of
theatre both in New York and elsewhere: direction, production and
dramaturgy. Earning her Masters of Fine Arts from Columbia, she has worked
at Arena Stage, Young Playwrights, Inc. and currently works at Actors Studio
Drama School.
Nina Paley is the creator of several syndicated comic strips including "Nina's Adventures", "Fluff" and "The Hots". In 1998 she began making independent animated "festival films", which have screened worldwide. Lately Nina has foregone wordly goods in order to embark on a solo feature film project, "Sita Sings the Blues", based on the Ramayana. More information can be found at www.ninapaley.com.
Angela Tucker is a writer, filmmaker and producer. Currently a staff
producer at Big Mouth Films, she is the Outreach Director and Associate
Producer for the feature length film, Deadline, which premiered at the 2004
Sundance Film Festival and was broadcast on NBC as a special two hour
Dateline. She recently received her MFA in Film from Columbia University.
She completed a short film entitled The Birthday Girl which will premiere at
Columbia's Annual Film Festival.
